Shalom Bayis Beth Din – Video from Rabbi Dovid E. Eidensohn

Throughout the world great rabbis experts in marriage and divorce laws have praised Rabbi Eidensohn’s project of Shalom Bayis Beth Din.

Today, marriage is threatened. Children suffer from broken families and divorced parents. It is a crisis. Couples spend  hundreds of thousands of dollars in court. They are torn apart medically and emotionally. Some people spend their best years battling over custody and money.

Most of the discussion about this is how to free women with a GET.  These “solutions” are about coercing a husband to give a GET, although coerced Gittin usually are invalid. This is the way of hate, and it breeds bitterness between men and women.  The basic issue of how to avoid a GET in the first place is far from resolved. As time goes on, people are becoming aware of this, and there is a growing fear about marrying.
Jewish Outreach Congregation offers two paths to improve things. One, the Shalom Bayis Beth Din, a program of people signing up with a Beth Din to find guidance in marriage, and somebody to complain to without causing the families to pile in with hate. A variation of this can prevent most Agunah cases and do away with the problem of invalid forced Gittin. The idea has been approved by senior Gittin experts throughout the world.
Another path is to create a group of people who will follow our programs to improve marriage and family, and become a viable partner for people who are lost in the thicket of a difficult marriage. They will actively help out by distributing letters and helping in other ways as our organization develops and expands. Some will learn how to talk to people with problems and some of them may join the work of the Shalom Bayis Beth Din which requires, besides Torah scholars, people who have other talents and traits. Also, people organizing to improve their own lives and to help others are a beacon of light in the darkest night.
This  email is separate from a Shalom Bayis Beth Din or a family organization. It is an email with ideas about improving family and marriage. It discusses problems of a broken marriage and divorce. We hope you will benefit from the email, and if you wish to pursue our other paths you are welcome to contact us about them.
